About the National Science Seminar Complex, Indian Institute of Science
The National Science Seminar Complex in India has been created on the beautiful verdant campus of the premier Institute of higher learning in the country, the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore through the generous support from Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India, House of Tatas and the IISc. The total built up area of the complex is approximately 5750 sq.m. The 750 set J. N. Tata Auditorium is steeply raked-almost amphi-theatrical - a viewing gallery for non-participating observers and media personnel, stage with an apron beyond the proscenium arch promoting audience participation as in an intimate theatre. The complex also has three other seminar halls (seats: 120, 90 and 60), steeply raked, offering undisturbed viewing and close proximately to the speakers.

The Indian Institute of Science, IISc owes its foundation to the practical vision and insightful dreams of a great visionary, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata. About 20 Km from the city is situated the Bannerghatta National Park. It is a dry deciduous forest which has abundant variety of trees like Neem, Sandal,Tamarind,Jalari. This park is inhabited by the Asian Elephants, leopards, Sloth Bears, Chital, Sambar, Monitor Lizards, Pangolin,Vipers, Cobras, Macaques, Porcupines, Mongoose, etc and lot of bird species are also to be found in this park.
